“Von Atze zu Atze” is a 3D high score based slinging game, in which you play a parasitic mask that slings itself to various lab experiments to steal their life energy & survive

Von Atze zu Atze was created in a Team of 8 members in the Global Game Jam, within 3 days.

The Theme of the Game Jam was “Mask”.

Programming

In this Game Jam project were, including me, only 2 programmers. Therefore I mainly programmed the game, instead of focusing on game design.

My programming tasks were:

  • NPCs

  • Environment Objects

  • Sound Implementation

  • Setting up the Gridmap

  • Importing of Assets

Software & Tools

In Von Atze zu Atze I used & managed the following tools:

  • Godot | NPC & Feature Programming & Level Creation

  • Git | Version Control

  • Miro | Team Communication

Level Design

Von Atze zu Atze has only one level, due to the time restrictions of the Game Jam.

I created the level without a clear workflow, because of the same time restrictions and therefore had to pivot to creating a section of the level, testing it and repeating the process, until it was finished. This process was quick enough, to keep up with the strict time restrictions & still put out a product of a specific quality
